English translation of autobiography originally published in French by a New Orleans printer in 1877. Martin joined the Society of the Sacred Heart in 1846 as a 16-year-old + left in 1873 under pressure from mother. This is her account as told in many stories during evening reunions with her relatives, primarily directed at teaching her nieces+nephews. Book was condemned by local Church officials + most copies destroyed.
