Attic Books is committed to providing a unique and diverse range of high-quality books to its customers. We are keen to support independent publishing, and recognise the rich contribution that independent publishers, who have a long and prestigious heritage in the country, make to the world of books and literature. Finding and championing publishers that are small, new, or hard to find on the high street is a big part of what we do.

We welcome submissions from publishers large or small, old or new, provided they are of the high quality expected and deserved by our customers.

What You Will Need to submit a book to Attic Books

Below, you will find everything you need to prepare.

Physical Books
Before submitting any titles to our central buying team for consideration, your book must have the following:

• An ISBN
• Title information on  BookData
• Good quality Printing

Only once the above criteria have been met can you then submit your title for consideration.

We can only carry books that have an International Standard Book Number (ISBN)  barcode.

During submission, we require a basic record.

A basic record contains:

• ISBN
• Author
• Title
• Publisher
• Nairobi availability
• Kenya Shillings price
• Format
• Territorial rights (where the book can be sold)
• Publication date
• Distributors

We also strongly recommend that you upload a jacket image, as this will help Attic Books buyers, booksellers, and customers.

Information For Authors
Only publishers, not authors, can set up to supply Attic Books through a distributor.

If you are an author and are unsure of how to proceed, please contact your publisher.

Please note that we will review and consider every submission but due to the very large number of submissions we receive we are unable to respond with a decision.

Please don’t send us review copies unless specifically requested by us and note that we are unable to send review copies back.

Contacting Our Bookshops

All initial buying decisions are made by our central buying team.

Therefore, please do not directly approach our shops about purchasing your books unless you have been instructed to do so by the central buying team.
