This particular work was first published in 1994 and is a combination of diary/natural history observations and her wonderful art work. Bastin has used a "sketchbook" format to feature her wonderful art which includes the almost life like birds, flowers, grasses, small creatures, nests, and various wild fruit. Her written observations are not only accurate, but rather lyrical and I find them quite inspiring. This is a great book for watercolor artists who enjoy seeing the technique used by an outstanding artist. Majorlein is one of the very best.
