About Peter De Rosa

Peter de Rosa, a former Catholic priest, wrote Pope Patrick, Rebels: The Irish Rising of 1916, and Vicars of Christ: The Dark Side of the Papacy. He also wrote the series Bless Me, Father (1979–1981). de Rosa was born in London in 1932. De Rosa is a writer of both fiction and non-fiction, focusing on Catholic and Irish history. He was ordained a Catholic priest in 1956 but left the priesthood in 1970, after which he became a Staff Producer for the BBC and then a full-time writer. After living for thirty years in County Wicklow, Ireland, Peter now lives in Bournemouth, England.
