About Nathan A. Haverstock
Nathan “Mike” Haverstock has been writing about Latin America for more than a half-century. He has traveled extensively throughout Central and South America as a free-lance journalist and consultant; immersing himself in the history, culture, politics and economic life of the many countries within the region.
Haverstock has written innumerable books and articles on topics with Latin American themes, including a series of educational texts for Visual Geography press and for many years was a major contributor to the World Book Encyclopedia on Latin American nations and related topics. He wrote Give Us This Day – a book about Brazil’s beloved Catholic nun, Sister Dulce, who has recently been beatified and whose name has been put forward for possible canonization as a Saint. He also wrote a well-received history of the life of war correspondent Frederick Palmer, entitled Fifty Years at the Front.
Haverstock survives his beloved late wife, Mary Sayre Haverstock, who was an American Art historian and widely published author in her own rite. He now lives in Sandusky, Ohio.
