About Barbara Milicevic
As children, my brother and I were intuitive. Although our parents were grounded in a traditional religion, they were fairly accepting of our paranormal perceptions. For example, my brother commented, at about age four or five, that there was "no such thing as time". He was correct in the context of quantum physics! Children sometimes know these things.
As we grew up, we ran into difficulty in the public school system where we were often ridiculed and denigrated. As a teacher, in my creative visualization and spirituality workshops and classes, the responses from adults, who recalled the disbelief and resistence they encountered when sharing spiritual or paranormal experiences, was overwhelming. Their feedback was so pervasive, I felt it important to compile a little book offering guidelines to help parents and educators learn to listen, to honor, and to respect youth. In this way, when young people are affirmed, their motivation to learn increases and their active participation in building healthy families, schools, and eventually communities blossoms. Parents discover that by empowering their children, they themselves are beneficiaries of their own loving and supportive energy.
My children have now grown into wonderful, successful adults. As a professor, I currently apply these principles in my work with adult learners at a small community university branch in New Mexico.
